I really love time travel Korean drama stories, especially when they include a memorable romance, or in this case romances, and so I enjoyed watching A Time Called You on Netflix in 2023. I hope it stays on Netflix for a long time to come so I can return to it again and watch favorite scenes all over again. I have to admit that it wasn't very original, as these time travel Korean dramas go, but I can still heartily recommend it, especially for younger fans or newbie viewers to K-dramas. It was written by Choi Hyo Bi and directed by Kim Jin Won who had helmed two prior masterpieces, My Country: The New Age, and Just Between Lovers.

The Story:

Han Jun Hee’s (Jeon Yeo Bin, Our Movie) boyfriend Koo Yeon Jun (Ahn Hyo Seop, One More Happy Ending) died one year previously and she still hasn't recovered from the tragic death of her young boyfriend and she misses him a lot.

 

One day by some miracle Jun Hee somehow travels back in time to the year 1998 and finds herself as a high school student named Kwon Min Ju (Jeon Yeo Bin again). At this high school, she meets a fellow student named Nam Si Heon (Ahn Hyo Seop again). She is surprised that Nam Si Heon resembles her late boyfriend Koo Yeon Jun so much and her heart is drawn to him.

Nam Si Heon is an outgoing person and very physically attractive. He is adored by most of the female students who flirt with him as much as possible. Meanwhile, student Jung In Gyu (Kang Hoon, Rookie Historian Goo Hae Ryung, The Red Sleeve) who is best friends with Nam Si Heon, develops a crush on pretty Kwon Min Ju, with the result that a dual male rivalry eventually results between the two best friends for the heart of .Min Ju and potentially into the future with Jun Hee as well.

Will time even out all things in an appropriate way and possibly even avoid the death of Koo Yeon Jun in the more modern day? Watch A Time Called You on Netflix and find out for yourself!
